The Rules of Tarot

Tarot, a divination tool used the world over, holds more than mere fortune-telling. Its cards are gateways to hidden knowledge, revealing truths that lurk in the shadows. Each card whispers secrets of the past, present, and future, but beware—the truth they unveil may be more terrifying than you dare to imagine. Next week a horror film is released, ‘Tarot’ where a group of college friends find this out the hard way!

Tarot is an upcoming American supernatural horror film written and directed by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg (in their feature film directorial debut) and co-written by Nicholas Adams. It is based on a 1992 novel, Horror-scope, by Nicholas Adams.

Imagine a group of friends who stumble upon a deck of tarot cards. They think it’ll be fun to play with them, but soon, strange things start happening resulting in their deaths!  It’s like the cards have a mind of their own, and they’re not happy about being disturbed. That’s the spooky story behind the ” Tarot” movie!

Tarot cards aren’t just pieces of paper; they’re like secret codes that can tell us things about ourselves and the world. Each card has a picture on it that means something special, like a secret language just for us to understand.

So what exactly are the rules of tarot?

For me, as someone who has been reading tarot for 23 years, there are two simple rules.

Firstly, just as the film highlights, never touch someone elses cards uninvited!

The cards can absorb energies, good and bad, from the people and situations they have given insight into so it is really important to not pick up that energy, also as a reader, their energy could interrupt, distort your readings.

Just like a ouiji board, they have the ability to open up a portal if they are not being used with good intention and protection in place.

The second rule is to set the intention before shuffling those cards. Tarot means wheel, and the cards are going to connect with a situation and give you divine guidance, into a cycle, a season, a journey playing out so therefore it is really important to set your intentions before shuffling those cards.
