Mercury Retrograde in Aries: Second Chances
In astrology, Mercury retrograde in Aries sparks a fiery mix of energy, ambition, and impulsiveness. This astrological event is all about the energy that the sign of Aries brings to the table. We can expect to experience a surge of enthusiasm and drive but we need to be mindful of where we are heading though, what are goals are, which way we wish to move our lives and our businesses forward as without proper direction, this energy can lead to frustration and impulsive actions.
During this period, many people may find themselves overwhelmed by excessive energy. Can you hear me muttering ‘God help me’ under my breath? As someone who has huge energy flows this could be my personal challenge with this one! So, take note if you are in my gang, that you may, at times, struggle with how to channel this energy effectively.
The impulsive nature of Aries may tempt us to leap into action without considering the consequences. It’s really important that we learn to pause, think things through, and avoid hasty decisions. A better approach is to be practical and get things done. I’ve advised all my business coaching clients this month that we need to watch for starting huge projects on a whim as we may become so restless and un-motivated to complete them as we become bored with the tasks in hand.

We could find ourselves facing some challenges that we didn’t see coming. Again, I feel the need to remind you to avoid impulsive behaviour and know that patience is key. This is a time to plan meticulously, do your research and complete any necessary groundwork before embarking on new ventures.
Despite its challenges, I do feel that this retrograde is a powerful energy to transition your business or your life as we have an Aries Solar Eclipse. Solar Eclipses symbolise fresh starts and new beginnings. When combined with a retrograde, they offer a unique opportunity for second chances. Do you need to give something a second chance? Do you need to give someone a second chance perhaps? This is certainly a time to embrace the planetary influences of Mercury Retrograde rather than fear them. A time to revisit past endeavours or pursue goals, dreams that you previously put on hold.
As the retrograde progresses, Mercury aligns with Neptune in Pisces, urging us to tap into our intuition and explore our creative depths. A rime we will be encouraged to show more compassion and to spend time going within. To reconnect with our true self.
There is a karmic energy at play of course and many will see this playing out in their lives.
Towards the end of the retrograde we will feel much more disciplined and if we have been going within, have the clarity we need, to help us refine our plans and goals. By maintaining focus and doing what is right, we pave the way for long-term success.
Even though these energies may have us treading in unfamiliar territory, we are encouraged to step into the unknown, to lose the comfort zones that have been holding us back for so long, I suspect since the season of the lockdowns. To lose that fear mentality that has become so ingrained in us and get back to doing what we love with who we love and loving ourselves and our lives that little bit more.
The most powerful energy lands around the 16th of April, when Mercury triggers the eclipse, signalling a pivotal moment for new beginnings. Whether it’s restarting a stalled project or pursuing a long-held ambition, seize the opportunity presented by this celestial event.
